ORGANIC WASTE

All the organic waste is handled and processed in the municipality. All the residents take their organic waste to public compost locations. The photograph shows one of these community composters

The Town Hall employees are in charge of the entire composting procedure, from aerating organic matter at public compost locations and removing unwanted substances from compost to transporting and sifting compost, as well as sending compost samples off for analysis. Compost is also distributed among local residents who may request it for use in their vegetable patches and gardens. The photograph shows two employees sifting compost to monitor its ageing process.

PLASTIC, PAPER AND THE UNSEGREGATED WASTE

Unsegregated waste, plastics, as well as paper and cardboard are picked up via door-to-door service. As the photograph shows, wastebaskets are usually left for pick-up by the residences’ front doors.
