Organic waste is handled at public compost locations set up within town limits, as well as at smaller individual composters placed near the residences that have vegetable patches and gardens. In Segura, a participative procedure was developed for the residents to evaluate the implemented system of waste removal and propose changes to improve it. The procedure allows time for reflection, proposals for improving the system, as well as decisions on the modifications of the system.
