Aduna is a \u201czero-waste\u201d town as it handles and processes all the organic waste it produces. The waste is collected at two public compost locations set up within town limits, as well as at smaller individual composters placed near the residences that have vegetable patches and gardens.<\/h5>\n

Within town limits, unsegregated waste is picked up door-to-door by municipal workers once a week. Outside the town limits, residents leave their unsegregated waste in containers hung on hooks and labelled with the names of their respective residences. The hooks are installed in small recycling cabins for collecting all types of waste. The types are clearly labelled to ensure that all the households segregate their residue accordingly.<\/h5>\n

Within town limits, segregated waste is placed in the usual recycling containers. As for rural dwellers, they take their segregated waste to purpose-built recycling cabins. Municipal workers are in charge of transporting segregated waste to the town\u2019s usual containers thus facilitating recycling in rural areas. Clothes and used cooking oil are collected in containers within town limits. Waste segregation is required by law.<\/h5>\n
