ORGANIC WASTE
Leintz Gatzaga is a “zero-waste” town as it handles and processes all the organic waste it produces. The image shows a community compost cabin placed in the collection centre where all the residents bring their organic waste.
The organic waste is also collected at smaller individual composters placed near the residences that have vegetable patches and gardens.
The waste is segregated in large and open containers placed in one single municipal waste collection centre. There is also one brown container for organic waste; however, it is only used by a food company operating in the municipality.
